Once upon a time, many of us worked for big companies — whatever help we needed was conveniently available in-house.

There was an IT Department, a Marketing Department, a Finance Department… an entire team of people whose job it was to support the work we did every day, people we could turn to for assistance, support, and guidance.

These days, that’s changed. Many of us now choose to work on our own — as solo entrepreneurs or small business owners — and it’s up to us to keep the business running smoothly.

It can be challenging and time-consuming, wearing all the hats, doing all the things. Even when everything goes swimmingly, it can keep us from the work we’d rather be doing. Besides, it feels good to have an extra layer of support as we are pursuing that enticing work/life balance.
